So we travelled down to Horsham Victora - 4500 kilometres round trip to compete in Australia's largest Amateur Motocross event being help over a week in October.
This year is Brads first year competing in the 85cc Big Wheel Class competing against kids older than him.
The weather was a very testing time coming from 40 degrees in Central Queensland to jumping in the sprinter van and was 2 degrees in the morning certainly took some adjusting too.
Looking forward to some Aussie Junior Nationals being held in Queensland I'm sure some of the riders would struggle with the hotter conditions.
West took some time before the event to ride tracks around Melbourne to adapt to the weather and set bikes ready for the week a head.
Track conditions where not the best at the start of the week, more like flat track with no ruts - certainly not what we had trained for but that was out of our control.
By the main events the club started to perform track work and started to look great giving more lines and passing opportunity for riders making for better racing.
Moto 1 - had terrible start mid pack was making his way through until mistake rallied him back finishing 9th.
Moto 2 - Got a cracker start ( HOLESHOT ) made some little rookie errors and finished 3rd.
Moto 3 - Got another cracker start ( HOLESHOT ) starting hitting all my marks and mid way started to make little errors and finished 3rd.
We took away a lot of positives through out the week ready to hit the track for preseason training.
West overall finish to the 85cc 12-14 Class was 4th he would like to thank the following people that help to his program in 2017 with out there continued support certainly make it very hard -
