The big annual Honda New Zealand Motocross Grand Prix at Woodville is the premier event on the Kiwi motorcycling calendar and this year’s 57th edition was even bigger.
This off season we ventured over the Tasman to ride and train with the Kiwi Ben Townley and family. Located in the North Island in beautiful Tauranga with great weather, great mountain biking certainly makes training more enjoyable compared to Central Queensland 45 degrees weather.
We took the drive down to Palmerston North via Lake Taupo through desert road to Woodville to setup with the Team Green crew ready for Saturdays racing.
Saturday morning sign was very well organised and very quick, once all this was completed we decided to inspect the track which was very cool.
Practice went well, not pushing to hard cause we thought gate pick was pig draw but was told after practice its practice times which put us into 1st gate pick lucky.
Event went well managed to go 1,1,2 for first overall. Very cool event certainly be back to 2019.
Would especially like to thank Kawasaki New Zealand and the great crew that made a huge effort & Motorcycling New Zealand for a great event.
Special thanks to Shane & Amanda, Lucy & Ben for your efforts.
Bring on 2018................
