Young Queensland-based racer Brad West is enjoying the step-up to the Kawasaki KX250, with West winning his opening Australian outing aboard the four-stroke green machine at Coolum.
Brad was competing alongside younger brother Jason at the first round of the 2019 Airoh
Series Sunshine State at Coolum on Saturday, February 16.
Brad competed in the Junior Lites, four-stroke 13 -U15 class and managed to win all three races. In the final race for the event, the track lost a little moisture but despite the dust and losing a left side foot peg split pin which resulted in a crash, the #45 Kawasaki still took the win.

Racing in the competitive 9-U12 class, Jason made some great starts and managed an impressive fourth for the event. Jason explained that with a bit more opening lap intensity, he will be able to improve the results for the next events.
The next round of the 2019 Airoh Series Sunshine State will be on March 23/24 at Roma MX Track, keep an eye on the West Brother’s social media for updates.
